Visual communication, isn't an art course. It's closer to maths than art. You are given a problem to solve and there is one perfect answer, it's just going through enough wrong ones to prove that your answer is right.

Me -'dad, were doing animation for our next project, I'm really looking forward to it.'
Dad- 'really are you using CGI and stuff?'
Me -'erm .... no.'

Animation can explain whatever the mind of man can conceive. This facility makes it the most versatile and explicit means of communication yet devised for quick mass appreciation.
To me this quote sums up our whole unit, I'm not a big walt disney fan, but found that you just cant disagree with this quote. It clearly says that the audience is the most important aspect and your imagination can be portrayed for everyone to see, so you can send a clear message to the masses and become influential but simply creating a cartoon. That message thusly has to be soo clear, maybe overly clear just to make sure they got it. To me thats a lot of responsibility for a simple animation.
